My ah-ha moment about organization (on Mint.com)

…and a few tips for organizing your finances

Did you know that I am not “naturally” an organized person? Probably not a huge surprise if you’ve read many of my posts here.

However, just because it doesn’t come easily to me doesn’t mean I don’t take it seriously.

A few years ago, life threw me a major curve ball – one that ultimately sparked a major ah-ha moment for me about why getting organized really matters. It didn’t have anything to do with how things look or even “getting more done” — but rather making room in life – for the people you love and the work you do. I hadn’t thought about that moment until recently, when the folks at one of my all-time-favorite websites, Mint.com reached out to to see if I’d be up for an interview. Of course I said yes!

In answering their first interview question, that ah-ha moment came flooding back to me. It made me feel incredibly lucky to be able to do what I do and be a part of this amazing community that’s all about helping busy people figure out ways to get sanely organized.
