Disclosure Policy
Editor’s Note: We Get Paid (a Little, sometimes)
Can you believe it; we actually want to make a living doing this?!? In that spirit, we wanted to be sure that we ‘buttoned up’ our disclosure policy for the FTC, yes, but more importantly for you – the readers who keep us going. Here’s what you need to know about our disclosure policy and how we do business.
We exist because busy people need smart shortcuts for staying a step ahead of the chaos. The Buttoned Up blog is written with that goal in mind and maintained by the Buttoned Up team: Anne Marie, Hollie, Alicia and Sarah. We often feature guest gurus who contribute their ideas for getting organized sanely too.
Buttoned Up does accept forms of cash advertising, sponsorship, paid insertions and other forms of compensation such as giveaways, gift cards, services, and trips in exchange for advertising and social media announcements. We go the extra mile to make it clear when we are paid for something. For example – you will notice that all of our paid ads are constrained to the top banner and right hand side of the page. In addition, you will always know when we do a paid post because it will be distinguished as a “sponsored” or paid post. All agreed upon compensation is for the time it takes us to create the custom content.
Our number one goal is to bring you smart, easy to implement ideas. No amount of compensation will influence our opinions when it comes to that. We will be honest in our product appraisals and recommendations to our readers. You can be assured that if we don’t love the product AND if there’s nothing in it for our readers – we won’t promote it. `Period. `Providing quality and relevant content for our readers is extremely important and can be expected on GetButtonedUp 7 days a week.
Now that we’ve complied with federal regulations, how about getting back to what’s really important?
